image thumb56 Microsoft’s first Seinfeld/Gates ad; a home run to trash canI came across VentureBeat and there I got my eyes at the mother of all news; Bill Gates Jerry Seinfeld standing like two God knows what, watching nothing. I mean just look at their faces, how is Bill Gates holding that Platinum card, buying shoes from a Shoes Circus. What exactly was running through their minds? Siegler reports of the ad being directed by French Director Michel Gondry and frankly speaking it bites dust. As if it’s some silent movie, cut, snipped, clipped and chopped.

It’s about Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld tumbling upon each other in a shoe shop and Jerry recommending Gates on what pair must he actually buy. Poles apart I would say, the expressions are mismatched, Seinfeld trying his humour by talking about taking bath with his shoes on etc. Rubbish to be short and sweet (seriously I am trying hard to keep my tongue tied here).

It makes no sense at all and I was left feeling like a zombie, without any expressions, is Microsoft going to spend a whole lot of its budget on such ads? I hope they shed off such creativity long before it has people calling the entire team nothing but a bunch of guys trying their hands at everything. That video, it still has me lost; the only moment I felt a smile forcibly making its way was, when I saw a closeup of Bill’s platinum card. The rest of it is well; I will leave that to our readers to fill up in the comments section.
