While both Apple and Google have taken the mobile world by storm with their operating systems, Microsoft appears to be beaten. But representatives at Microsoft think to the contrary as they claim to be creating an OS that makes the mobile software run on a wider range of mobile products. Andy Lees from Microsoft stated that Windows Mobile was initially designed for the PDAs that weren’t meant to be phones initially and that the team is waving wands that will cast a spell in the mobile market in a year or so. Too much fantasy in that and I bet by then the Android would be light years away for Windows Mobile to compete. Lees however pointed that certain strategies regarding the matter will be highlighted during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month:
You are going to see a bunch of announcements at Mobile World Congress but also it is going to be the beginning of a 12-, 18-month period where you are going to see a whole bunch of different stuff.
