Microsoft to reveal ‘Mojave Experiment’ today in San Francisco

Shoaib Hashmi

The_Mojave-ExperimentToday, Microsoft is going to reveal its ‘Mojave Experiment’ in San Francisco. According to some, the so called experiment is nothing but another viral marketing campaign and it seems to be case.

The Mojave website claims that they would be giving a 10 minutes long demo of the “next Microsoft OS” which is tagged as ‘Mojave’. Next Microsoft OS might have made you think about Windows 7 but its not the case because the website further reads, “but it’s actually Windows Vista”.

This experimental strategy of Microsoft is to attract people by using ‘new words’ for ‘old products’. Right now Microsoft is refurbishing its marketing strategy because the old one didn’t work with anyone and was very much criticized by the users and press.

This strategy is only going to work if the product is strong and contains some positive changes that will convince people to use it, otherwise we think that this strategy is not going to work at all.

As reported by CNET, Microsoft gathered the views of those users who gave negative marks about Windows Vista and showed them the demo of ‘Mojave’. More than 90% of the users were impressed and gave a positive response. After that they were told that it was Windows Vista.

The problem with Vista, as noted by CNET, is that it looks good on demos only, but when you get to use it, it is not that good for many. Lets see how this experiment goes and how much success it brings with this new strategy.
