Microsoft has made an announcement according to which the software giant will offer 2.5 million free downloadable copies of the beta version of the new Windows 7. The new operating system has proved to be a popular download on different P2P downloading service including BitTorrent. The deal contains two catches as well, one is that the beta version will be valid until August 1, 2009 only, after which it will be expired. The other one is that the beta version which is being released can only run on Windows Vista and is the upgraded version.

The new Windows 7 will be available for download from January 9. Also it will be available in Arabic, English, German, Hindi and Japanese.
