Microsoft has presently brewed up another platform called “Echoes in a bid to persuade telecom carriers to offer their users various Microsoft services (Windows Live etc).With Echoes, Microsoft plans at making its Windows Live mobile deployment more expedient. The platform had been looked out by Israel’s Research Corporate Vice President, Moshe Lichtman and being developed by Microsoft’s Israeli Strategic Development Centre. The new platform is capable of performing various tasks, some of which include;
- Windows Live Messenger contacts get numbers.
- Make sure that IM messages work effectively with SMS.
- Address book Synchronization
Along with that the service would enable PC to mobile calls. Although many services already provide many of the above mentioned services and this could only to get Microsoft’s name into such service providers.
Microsoft has performed test with different carriers and according to Foley, at Zdnet; Microsoft plans at putting forward Phase 1 of Echoes that would provide a few of the services (click to call, single sign etc).
The platform might actually evolve Microsoft’s mobile ads, but we are yet to see Echoes making echoes.
