Microsoft rolls out its revenue report for the fiscal fourth quarter ended June 30, 2008. With a total revenue of $15.8 billion, an 18% of increase has been noted over the same quarter last year. While the Annual revenue is $60.42 billion that is also an 18% increase over a prior year.
The Software Giant had experienced a steep downward incline for the Outlook as the business app sales forecast turned out to be worst when its post-hours trading met a 5% drop in the market shares. But Kevin Turner, Chief Operating Officer at Microsoft, says that its an outstanding performance and it shows that the company is really striving hard in a weak technology.
Delivering $60 billion in annual revenue is an outstanding accomplishment and a testament to the powerful combination of great technology solutions and strong execution by our partners and global sales and marketing teams, The outlook for fiscal year 2009 is positive given the breadth of our impressive technology portfolio and the expanding collection of online services we are bringing to market.
The fiscal year that was also marked as the launch of MS server products has generated handsome revenue amount out of all the customer demanded products including Windows Vista. Chris Liddell, Chief Financial Officer at Microsoft, praises company’s potential by saying:
We had a strong finish in the fourth quarter, which capped off an impressive year for the company. We grew revenue 18% for the year with earnings per share significantly outpacing that. Looking forward, despite difficult economic conditions, we will build upon the momentum exiting fiscal year 2008 and expect to deliver another year of double-digit revenue and earnings growth in fiscal year 2009.
Whereas its online services along with research and development raises up to 24 % of revenue.
Internet giant, Google has also released its revenue report for the second quarter and it depicts that the Mighty Search Engine is ruling the Internet Market as it has marked a 35% increase in its revenue. Though, Officers at Microsoft are highly encouraging their company by regarding 18% revenue as a real achievement but the truth is far more bitter and Google can give it a hard pill to swallow by challenging a tough competition.
