Just when we were put up with rumors of Microsoft acquiring Powerset, Microsoft reveals its plans at getting its hands at a Portuguese mobile application company MobiComp. The company has assisted pioneer technologies enabling backup and restoration of mobile data and posting social content to the websites.
This deal is set to amalgamate MobiComp’s expertise at creating innovative mobile data security and have a share at Microsoft’s plans to give experiences that help grow work and play amongst mediums like the cellular, Web and PC. According to a press release, Todd Peters, corporate Vice President in Mobile Communications Business at Microsoft said:
People expect their phones to deliver the best experiences from PCs and the Web right to their pockets. Investing in the right solutions from companies like MobiComp will extend the capabilities of Windows Mobile and Windows Live to help us provide the most innovative and seamless way to stay connected.
The acquisition would definitely help boost both the firms at combining their potentials to give far better services to their users and according to MobiComp’s CEO and co-founder:
We’re thrilled that our work over the past eight years can now be extended by partnering with Microsoft’s world-class portfolio of mobile services.
Personally the side that is going to end up with a bigger advantage is of course Microsoft, for MobiComp will contribute immensely to the list of offerings that Mobile Communications and Business of Microsoft has to offer along with its existing partners and consumers that include 11 mobile operators across the globe.
