image thumb186 Microsoft: Changes in the China division plus $1 billion investment in the R&DThere’s is some sort of shuffling going around with Microsoft’s China division as it places a CEO for its team, Simon Leung a former executive at Motorola. This shifts Zhang Ya-Qin, the former CEO to the position of Microsoft’s VP and he will be heading the research and development group as its chairman. The announcement came the same day when Microsoft talked of investing $1 billion in the R&D department. Zhang told reporters:

The one billion dollar investment over the three years is new investment… which will focus on human resources and other resources linked to research and development

The investment plan does not include the cost incurred in acquisitions and various other deals and would be used only for the purpose of expanding the R&D sector.
