Web of Trust has some important announcement as MySQL’s founder Michael "Monty" Widineius departed from Sun Microsystems to join its team. WOT is a community driven security add-on that that protects users from various online threats. The community has crossed 3 million downloads for the WOT and provides information on over 21 million web sites. In post, Monty mentioned his inclusion in WOT’s board and stated:

I am thrilled to join the Web of Trust team and will do my best to help it reach new heights. My years at MySQL have taught me the power of user-driven services, and I appreciate and value the contribution that each of you provide to the Web of Trust community by rating and commenting on websites!
