While there are a countless places to share your thoughts, opinions, etc with people around the globe and many others dedicated to the cause of helping academics, Mendeley is one of them. It’s a software that helps one manage and share research papers apart from searching and connecting with those related to the academics. I personally like the idea of providing a dedicated platform/service for those in academics easing the task of sharing and collaborating with fellow. It has been busy with updates and recently launched support for translations and raising a healthy $2 million recently. In time Mendeley might just live up to its dream of becoming the Last.fm for academics. You can tour the site here to learn more.
