Medialets analytics launches new version, shows developers how apps from App Store stack up

Saad Ali Abbasi

Medialets_logoMedialets, a company that gives analytical data for apps through its Medialytics product, released new analytics. With over 3,000 apps out there (60 days after the launch of App Store) it creates a lot of competition between similar apps. This new analytics feature aims to provide developers with the best data to analyze their apps and compare them to similar ones.

Medialets new analytics feature has all the works such as a sleek interface containing the important information, like downloads. It is free to sign up and only requires a small code snippet to be added to an app. Data thus sent to Medialets servers is anonymous. Offers customizable ways to look at a lot of different usage patterns such as, you can find out the percentage of people using your app on the iPhone vs. the iPod touch. And even further, developers can find the number of users signed up for their app since your last login.

Although it comes down to the comparative data, to competitors, that really should matter to developers. Like, lets say you have a fake light application, you can make a comparison from the usage data for your app, to the usage data of your competitors’ – using Medialets. As it uses public App Store data, it can help developers determine the worth of their apps, etc.

Medialets has already signed up 200 developers to test its service in the 2 months of its make. This means Medialets has about 20% of all developers for the App Store, which’s higher than any other analytical company providing data for App Store apps.

I managed to grab some shots of the new version of Medialytics, which shall be on the shelves next week:
