image thumb100 MapQuest tries to hold top position as Google Maps climb closer

Google Maps continued its climb to grab higher shares in the US Internet market as it gets closer to MapQuest. MapQuest had almost fallen below Google Maps before it began rising up and currently stands 11% ahead of its rival. However MapQuest takes a plunge when someone performs a search, one has to be specific when it comes to placing a query associated to MapQuest where as Google takes a bite off given the bulk of its traffic coming from Google Search. Plus it provides more expanded and very specific results for each search performed generally. Personally I don’t think MapQuest would lead the market for Google will somehow crawl past it sometime later if not soon.
