It’s Apple everywhere today, sort of or maybe I am continuing to focus on Apple related news. Today Apple announced its much anticipated Mac App Store with more than a thousand apps to offer to its user.

The Mac App Store requires users to be running the Mac OS X 10.6.6, a recent update that has been made to its Snow Leopard operating system. If you aren’t on the latest update of your Mac OS X you can download it here.

The Mac App Store has a varying list of apps which include apps on Education, Graphics and Design, Games, productivity, etc. The apps follow the same model as the App store for the iPhone, iPod Touch and the iPad and are either available for free or are paid. However the absence of iWork ‘11 is missed dearly although the iLife ‘11 has been included.
