Lifestreaming your Internet activites to your friends ( like FriendFeed ) is the in thing nowadays, and AOL hasn’t missed the oppurtunity by introducing AIM Buddy Updates. Integrated with your AIM account, it lets you share and view your online activities with them.
The list of services supported is quiet extensive and includes the likes of Twitter, Youtube, Blogger, RSS
feeds and many more. The updates can also be viewed in a similar-to-FriendFeed interface, which isn’t a bad thing, as it lets you just focus on the content with the clean and simple layout. Also, like in Windows Live Messenger, when a contact changes or updates his profile or images, a gleam shows in the contact list. Taking a leaf out of Messenger’s book, there are similar alert notifications that show up in your AIM Buddy List making it easier to notify your friends.
If you use AIM and Twitter or other supported services, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t sign up for Buddy Updates. It does what FriendFeed made popular and integrates it with your AIM application, which automatically provides Buddy Updates access to a huge user base, and could potentially attract many FriendFeed users, given that they provides the right features.
