Microsoft is looking forward to solidify the dominance of its browser, the Internet Explorer. An initiative that started off by getting rid of years or sticking to the IE6 in the face of growing popularity of the likes of Firefox, to begin with. The newer versions of the IE have been better, especially IE8 which has got some praise from Web community. Today videos of the upcoming IE 9 were leaked on YouTube and in all honesty, the user interface is more like a woman clad in bikini on a beach.
Why couldn’t I just go ahead saying minimalist? Perhaps it’s too clichéd. Anyways coming to the video the interface really isn’t close to anything like the previous IE we are used to. An absence of a full fledge typical IE toolbar, a Chrome like appearance, a forward and back button, an arrow for options, an address bar. That’s pretty much it and in all honesty if this Microsoft’s best shot at making IE9 a market killer, I am disgusted.
However I would reserve my verdict on this until I have had hands on experience with it. The demo also demonstrates IE’s hardware accelerated browsing prowess, which is the only thing that makes me want to test it. I hope it lives beyond its expectations [in a good way] and snatch back some users from Firefox and Chrome.
