Last.fm is another app jumping into the iPhone’s applications wagon. Splendid number of iPhone apps are already available at Apple’s Store while we have also written a brief review on number of apps for iPhone-iacs such as Facebook app, Google’s Search app, Remote app, Jott (mobile notepad), Twitterrific, Shazam, MySpace app, WordPress app.
So here is another review of an app meant for all music maniacs who loves to taste new music, people and concerts and want to move with their favourite music. Last.fm users can enjoy its mobile app by paying a visit to a newly launched Apple’s App Store as Last.fm has officially announced the availability of downloadable app on the music category of the iTunes App store
The user friendly app offers one touch functionality with a ravishing and exquisite UI. The app provides an option through which, users can directly buy tracks from the iTunes mobile download store along with the standard Love/Ban/Stop/Next options. Blending of features like Artist biography, similar Artists, Events and much more makes it all more flexible and a must have mobile app.
Overall, Last.fm seems to provide a promising app that will cater the basic needs of music lovers who enjoy listening their favourite music collection over the Wi-Fi devices. According to Mashable, Pandora is an app that can gain good points over last.fm app as it allows users to launch a quick mix of all preset stations in an easy manner; users can also pause their music track instead of skipping or stopping current track. Though Last.fm’s app on iPhone and iPod touch are really appreciable and can be regarded as a good count in the ever growing list of iPhone’s apps.
As quoted by last.fm’s blog, the company is looking forward to eliminates any mishaps and caveats:
there are no background applications allowed on the iPhone/Touch. There are several implications to this, but what it mostly means is any time you click a link that loads Safari, the music will stop and you’ll have to restart the app. This means event maps, and bio links. We’re looking at alternatives, but for now that’s the breaks.
and are looking to make this app available globally.
we are initially rolling this out in the US, UK, Canada, France, Germany and Spain. We’re looking at other locales but have to deal with licensing and a host of other issues. We assure you that we’re working on it.
