last.fm shakes hands with LyricFind: Have lyrics of what you hear

image89 last.fm shakes hands with LyricFind: Have lyrics of what you hearLast.fm users have a good news as the music recommendation engine will now be featuring lyrics on its site. This comes after Last.fm shook hands with LyricFind, pulling in more lyrics for more than 800,000 songs from both major and independent artists.

The feature would also enable users to search lyrics and make Last.fm the first music recommendation site that has lyrics available on its site. Upon implementation, Last.fm will show parts of a song’s lyrics on the concerned page for the track and users can view the entire lyrics by  clicking through it.

With this announcement there is news that the lyrics page will also be sponsored by advertisers and appears that Last.fm is pretty serious about monetizing its service. Users won’t mind that as long as they have access to the lyrics for their favorite songs. With a massive number of 800,000 to start off with, there still remains an even larger number of songs in Last.fm’s catalogue that are without them and users will be keen at seeing that number grow exponentially.

Overall the move is definitely a great one as it makes Last.fm stand out of the crowd as usual and making it an even more dominant platform in terms of service to music.
