JS-Kit & Evite combine their ‘Powers’
The event planning service, Evite, has announced its deal with JS-Kit. The later provides features like commenting and polling which lets the planner communicate with guests/attendees or vice versa. The social planning tool will use the commenting and polling features to facilitate its users. Besides this, Evite is expanding features of its social networking site as well, which will include the capability to share stories & photos.
Evite has been in the market for almost a decade. Over the years, it has been challenged by a number of competitors, specially with advent of Web 2.0 companies like Socializr & Renkoo, but it has managed to stay in the mainstream. Currently they have 15 million unique visitors/month.
The social planning service has made a mark in invitation services and is still doing well so it doesn’t have to worry about competitors. Their real challenge is to compete with the social networks like Facebook, Orkut, MySpace, etc. The updated features of the service include an updated user interface along with the capability to import snaps from Flickr and videos from YouTube. Lets see how the users react with these changes.
JS-Kit on the other hand, has been deployed in over 0.5 million websites. The company has just acquired “HaloScan”, the commenting system provider. With this new deal, it will get access to a wide range of users which will definitely make it more popular.
