Jolicloud bags $4.2 Million in Series A

Funding

Jolicloud has raised a healthy $4.2 Million in Series A round of funding. The funding round came from Mangrove Capital Partners and Atomico Ventures. Jolicloud provides a Linux based OS and other software for the netbooks, something that Google is planning to bring forth by the name of Google Chrome OS. Jolicloud will definitely have a tough time competing in the market but it’s good to see it taking the early steps and pursuing what will be a potential future market of the operating systems. Along with the funding, Atomico Ventures’ Niklas Zennström and Gilles Samoun will take positions in Jolicloud’s board and Mangrove Capital Partners’ Michael Jackson will act as its advisor.
