Jaxtr has rolled out another one of its service, FreeConnect to enable users to talk on phones without any charges. Now how exactly is Jaxtr going to digest the costs that pile up with free calls (given the massive cost saving cuts they have made)? I couldn’t find any way with which it can generate revenue. Perhaps it will push in ads between calls. I think the idea is to allure more users who might want to pay for much better premium service it has to offer.
The service however is far too time consuming; register at Jaxtr (if you aren’t), hit in a number that you want make a call at Jaxtr and wait until it generates a local number. The other users is sent an SMS with a local number before you can finally call for free. Tiring, i bet the users are going to switch over to the hassle free paid service.
