Looks like this month is going to be filled with news about new phones every other day. We have reported about the possibility of the next generation of iPhone, the much anticipated Palm Pre releasing just two days before Apple’s WWDC and today we came across news about Nokia pushing one out too. The manufacturer is set to release N97, its first touch screen device in the N-Series that runs on the 5th edition of the S60 OS. It will be interesting to see how each one performs in the markets, both in terms of usability and sales, though the iPhone 3, will most likely grab away all attention, there is little doubt that Nokia N97 might just perform better in terms of pieces sold in the International market. I just hope it gets a much better response and doesn’t experience a fail like its Ovi store did.
Just to know, which one of the devices are you going to buy this summer and why?

There are two more devices that I personally consider interesting, though will probably not sell like the iPhone:
- Samsung i7500, Samsung’s first Android phone. It looks like a great piece of hardware and with cupcake the os should function well as well.
- Nokia N900/Rover: though not really a phone, the device looks really nice… the big missing thing for this device is the app ecosystem around maemo.
For me personally:
- N97 is too expensive.
- iPhone is too closed a system for my liking.
- Pre is probably more reasonably priced and has an open system.
- i7500 – this marries a lot of nice features for me, but I don’t know what it will cost.
- Nokia N900 – if it’s “cheap” and the browser is up to iphone standards I would love to have it!
