Google has definitely taken the cake away from many a services online, be it search or simply its Google Reader. One such service that has been hit the most is Bloglines which has had its days of success but is slowly decaying ready to fall in its grave. I wont call Google the only killer of Bloglines, there are other players who have taken its place by storm with the real time-ness to boast about; like Twitter, FriendFeed, etc. I am not pleased to see that it continues to keep its ‘beta’ site in beta after all this time and that there have been no new features for a very long time, which are all indications of a site undergoing the last rituals to head into a coffin. Bloglines has got a lot to do if it is to push me off the pessimistic approach I have towards its future.
