The share had peaked up on the usage and touching the peak at 0.48% before it finally sloped downwards in the ending week of August.

There was no reason put up for the slump during the closing week of August but the peaking of usage share was given full credit to the much hyped launch of the iPhone 3G. This shouldn’t be surprising as the iPhone has always put up a better show. As is reported that Apple’s iPhone was responsible for generating around 0.4% of the total browsers’ traffic on the Internet, given their limited numbers.

The data that has been analyzed is based on data collected from browsers of visitors that totals to 160 million a month and the given percentage that uses iPhones to access the web is way to smaller than those using personal computers etc. The reporting also puts iPhone OS at number four amongst the most popular operating system led by Microsoft with a total percentage for visitors using iPhone to access the web counting to 0.19%.

There shouldn’t be any surprises here as the iPhone has put computing into next generation and with the success it has turned out into, such figures are bound to improve. Who knows the next version of iPhone might very well render personal computers nothing but junk.
