The iPhone is a product that has captured the market completely - but knowing that has it got the reliability, even more than BlackBerry? Lets find out. A study by SquareTrade reveals that after an year of ownership, the least malfunctions were reported in iPhones, smartphones. SquareTrade deals in selling extra warranties for cell phones and other devices and came to this conclusion after handling 15,000 smartphones under its plan. Malfunctions for the iPhone, after an year, came out as 5.6 percent - whereas the figure was 11.2 percent for BlackBerry. Treo came at 16.2 percent.
Battery problems turned out to be surprisingly less for the iPhone, than the other two brands – less than 0.5 percent of iPhones malfunction due to battery issues, compared to 1 percent for the BlackBerry and Treo. Though for all three smartphones, the area of trouble lies in the touchscreen and keyboard, especially the iPhone in particular (iPhone 3G as well). Also, the other reason for iPhone to malfunction has been reported as the owner treating it with less care, and end up dropping it, or spilling coffee on it! These accidents rate 12 percent for the iPhone, and 9 percent for all other phones.
