Finally iPhone developers have the right to issue free of cost promotional copies of applications for their users. Developers were asking about this from Apple for a long time. Now with the approval of AppStore, developers can distribute up to 50 promotional codes, allowing users to download free of cost, full version of an application. Developers seems to be happy with this step.

According to developer Raven Zachary:

I think this is great—it will reduce dependency on using ad hoc distribution for friends and family as well as reviews by the press and bloggers.

This is one of the things that developers have been asking for since the launch of the App Store.
