Since the release of iPhone, it has gained huge popularity which is evident from the increase in number of its apps. 20 to 40 new apps are coming out on daily basis. The product contained 500 applications when it was released, but now it has crossed the milestone of 1000.
977 apps were available till Sunday night, among which 25% were games. Games are proving to be a popular iPhone app as they are leading the paid app board carrying 53 of the top 100 places. Expensive apps have also started to make their way in the App Store. Two MyAccountsToGo apps are running for $449.99, and another iChart EMR is charging $139.99, but you don’t have to worry about it because it is meant for certain people i.e. professionals, who can rely on these apps.
Applications like PhoneSaber which are targeted to most of the audiences are free. Currently there are 6 apps that cost over $50 and due to this the average price on an app is $6.70, but the overall cost on all apps is $4.96.
There have been complains from a few developers regarding the speed of their app which is not approved fast enough by Apple. While others say that the App Store takes a lot of time in updating an app, when it is taken to the App Store.
According to VentureBeat, they have come to know from various sources that Apple will be launching a beta testing function through its store to resolve such issues.
