All you iPhone lovers would have known by now of the TypePad App. Yes, and most people were wondering if WordPress would follow suit. And yes! the wait is over folks. We came across the official Wordpress for iPhone blog. They’ve posted an announcement along with a video demo of the new WordPress app in action which looks awesome to say the least!

It supports WordPress.com blogs as well as self-hosted WordPress.org blogs running version 2.5.1 or newer.

And just to remind you guys, 2.5.1 and above is supported because of over 70 fixes it has, some of the major fixes being:

• Performance improvements for the Dashboard, Write Post, and Edit Comments pages.
• Better performance for those who have many categories
• Media Uploader fixes
• An upgrade to TinyMCE 3.0.7
• Widget Administration fixes
• Various usability improvements
• Layout fixes for IE

It’s going to be available with the Apple App Store about to launch this morning. We at Startup Meme are very impressed by the capabilities of this application and can’t wait to use if on our iPhones. So check out the video and drool !
