Pocket Clapper, a new iPhone application, is a motion picture clapper available in the App Store. The app is a pocket size gadget that can be used for making a clap sound. As if there aren’t enough weird apps in Apple’s collection. You can also write the outline of a shooting scene on the blackboard in Pocket Clapper, with a white chalk.
I guess the app is another one of those additions to Apple’s App Store that don’t matter a lot. The app is available for $0.99. But it’s useful for some people who’re looking to play around with their friends, and sort of like a creative app too. Not too heavy on the pocket to try out though.

People who make movies (for a living, or out of passion) actually find this very useful. There are several clapperboard apps there, and this one is the cheapest. Others may be better (and more expensive), but this one is perfectly adequate.
When you shoot video on one device and sound on the other, clapperboard (the “clap” sound of it closing, and the image of the stick hitting the board) are the only reference points for proper synchronisation of audio and video.
Wooden boards have been in use since late 1920's, so this makes a logical application of iPhone technology.
