Seventymm, a site dedicated to online DVD rentals has received a raise of $12.5 million from NEA Indo US Ventures, becoming the company’s third round of taking the total to $22 million. The company is another one to get to pick up funding investments in India.
Rafat Ali reports further that the company had been bid for a buyout by ADAG ever since the company had stepped up into the rental business but things didn’t work out and Seventym has maintained its position as a major DVD Rental site in India.
The operations of Seventymm are at present expanded to six cities and a team of 400 employees. The users total to 70,000 with more than 7,000 users added to the services every month. The reason for its growth is the large number of titles that total to 18,000 ranging from Hindi and English to 11 other regional languages.
