The BIG BLUE is at the top notch again and today it said that India remains one of its fastest growing markets and it expects to maintain double-digit revenue growth in the region despite growing domestic competition those being Infosys Technologies, Satyam Computer Services Accenture, Sun Microsystems, Hewlett-Packard Co and Microsoft .
We are looking at maintaining the double-digit (revenue) growth we are continuing to see on an average basis, Sandip Patel, managing partner of IBM’s global business services in India and South Asia.
Increase in revenue was almost 43 percent in the first quarter of the 2008.
The pure play firms are starting to selectively look at clients in India and grow in the domestic business, said Patel, who has been working with IBM for the past 18 years. We just went live with one of our clients and we will be announcing that (the deal) pretty soon.
To support growth, IBM India continues to hire despite the global financial crisis, with almost 73,000 employees in India.
