It sounds pretty amusing when a site hat hasn’t even hatched claims to take over the age old Craiglist, it reminds me of how Cuil; how it had fired bazookas at bringing down Google and how miserably it failed to even make a stand. A stealth startup iList comes banging hard on hopes saying the same and to it Craiglist is too 1995-ish.
Before we jump over to more slashing of the comedy circus iList plans to be. We would like to mention that the company has raised $1.5 million from DFJ and angel investors Dmitry Shapiro (founder Veoh) and Alex Bard (founder Goowy) as reported by Erick Schonfeld.
Now if iList thinks it has got something close to ‘a stand out idea’ with its social classifieds it might have its bubbles burst long before it sheds the cloak for there is a swarm of such services already (Facebook alone hosts a number off them). So what we see here is that iList needs to climb a towering ladder to make it to the top and mind it we haven’t mentioned how high Craiglist is in the arena. Best of luck iList we suggest you stay wrapped up.
