The music business has seen a boom in the recent few years, as Internet has started to promote fresh artists. iLike and TuneCore team are doing one such thing by teaming up to promote artists looking to make a name, and thereby also sell their music in a quick way.
Artists will be charged a flat fee, as TuneCore will help them by distributing their digital music to a number of music stores. The fee, though, depends on how many stores you wish to reach and also if you want to sell a single song or the whole album. Pricing still being within reach, enables bands or solo artists to retain 100% of the generated revenue.
With iLike stepping-in with this deal, artists would have an easier way to get hold of the company and promote themselves, as iLike has established itself as a promotion platform on Rhapsody and a handful of social networks.

This is an interesting more, but I still dont see how it is big news. http://routenote.com has been developing these music distribution partners in recent months also.

I’ve heard Justin Timberlake and Timbaland (the singer/producer) have been picking up fresh talent from YouTube, so yeah there are many sources…
