Microsoft will be adding a host of new features in the upcoming version of IE 8 to make it more usable and accessible to disabled users across the web. The new features include Caret Browsing – which will allow users to navigate a web page and do things like select and copy text, tables or images using only the keyboard, Adaptive Zoom – which scales elements of a web page before the page is laid out in the screen allowing low-mobility and visually impaired to better view the web, High DPI (Dots per Inch) - IE 8 will automatically match the DPI scaling settings which is needed due to adaptive zooming, resulting in improved image scaling on web pages.
The new version of IE 8 is expected to be shipped early next year and is already under selective beta testing.
