IBM is partnering with three universities to create a platform for the cloud computing. The partnership would include Carnegie Mellon University, Texas A&M University in Qatar and Qatar University and will be utilizing the country’s Cloud Computing Center to accelerate research on scientific simulation, data processing, search, etc. In a statement, Associate Professor at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, Majd F.Sakr stated:
This will help us realize our vision of developing, evaluating, and extending a cloud-computing infrastructure in Qatar, to target regional applications and projects to help advance research.
