If one wins the game the others find it harder and the best option they have is to give multiple things to gain some traction. Lets get real and talk sense. We all know that Tweetie 2 is gaining grounds to be fairly called the default choice for the iPhone’s Twitter client and competition is finding it hard to grab shares. There are always ways and HootSuite has one.
The makers of Twitter apps for business are adding more features to their client to give users more options like language translation, support of geo-location and more importantly the integration with Facebook. Businesses would find it very useful as they will more features to roll their dice on and leverage the Twitter app. Facebook is just one feature but the winning addition was the option for these businesses to translates tweets in more than 50 languages and do the obvious: help them understand what tweets in various languages say.
It already offers businesses to make social connections at a micro level but the Facebook integration would add a whole new dimension as it would enable updates to pages and see updates from people you are connected to. This is quite interesting and useful as it allows a better interaction with your connections and keep an eye on what is happening across multiple pages.
What HootSuite is doing is something anyone else would do to raise share amongst competition. You know it when the ground is already taken by one, the only better way to compete is to offer multiple features that users find more convenient to use. Lets see how this one plays along for HootSuite.
