With the U.S. economy not rising back up any time soon, there are changes in the trends of consumer spending being noticed all around. People are looking to spend less and less, and save on every thing and every where they can. Hitwise made a survey on the traveling habits in the U.S., which also has seen an effect, especially with the holiday season coming. The Airline websites have seen a solid impact as their traffic has gone down the lowest in three years, though a slight up was noticed in the election period. The survey notices that the traffic on discount carriers has been less than that of the major carriers, possibly because there has been a decline in leisure travelers, while business travel continues to prevail.
