Koobface virus, is out there on the social networking site Facebook said security expert Craig Schmugar, a threat researcher for McAfee Avert Labs. Barry Schnitt , a Facebook representative confirmed the threat.
You might find this message in your inbox mentioning "You look funny in this new video" and when you click the link, you are prompted to install a malicious file named flash_player.exe.
Only a very small percentage of Facebook users have been affected and we’re working quickly to update our security systems to minimize any further impact, including resetting passwords on infected accounts, removing the spam messages, and coordinating with third parties to remove redirects to malicious content elsewhere on the Web said Schnitt.
The worm could then exploit your online activities and monitor them as well.I n response to the threat, Facebook has posted instructions on how to remove the infection
Hey there, i’m guess my computer got infection from this virus. My Internet and facebookside/ google is akting totally strange since I tried to open the videolink.. I have a virus remover on my.vomputer nut it seems like it wouldn’t find the problem. Should I load norton on it?? What can I do??

I recently removed the virus using AVG. The virus actually prevented me from downloading most anti-virus software and even updating what I already had. You can download a free version from the link below.

Oh please. FB just tells their “valued customer” to run an anti-virus application (which does not work) and to change their password (which also does not work). I have sent 2 messages to them asking for help and the only response I got was that I had contacted the wrong group and that I was to follow their directions – run anti-virus software and change my password.
