GraphOn, a software maker based in Santa Cruz, California, has filed a law suit against Google, alleging that Google’s Base, AdWords, Blogger, Sites and Youtube services violate GraphOn’s patents.
The patents in question were acquired by GraphOn as a result of its acquisition of Network Engineering Software, which was privately held software company. The acquisition was completed in 2005. GraphOn’s law suit has been filed in United States District Court in the Eastern District of Texas.
WebWare tried to reach Google for comment, but Google’s representatives were not immediately available for comment.
According to GraphOn, the law suit is following similar course of action against AutoTrader.com, Classified Ventures, IAC, Match.com, Yahoo, eHarmony.com, and CareerBuilder.
The lawsuit in question involves a method of maintaining an automated and network accessible database. GraphOn is seeking permanent injunctive relief along with unspecified damages.
