Google, the search engine giant, has launched the Google Mobile app for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The app is currently available in the U.S. App Store. Although Google has put its hand on various other services and has gained success in most of them, they always stick with the basics i.e. ‘Search’.
The new application is accessible in the form of free download at Apple’s latest launched App Store which does a lot more than just search. Furthermore it also searches the iPhone/iPod Touch for stuff like contacts. If you wana customize search for different items like Wikipedia entries, news, etc., you can easily do it.
The most interesting thing in the app is that it can use the location sensing skill of the device to spot your exact location i.e. tell you where you are right now, & also it searches the local hot spots (local search). Life with the searches have become easier with the inclusion of recommendation engine that proposes its thought on what you’re looking for, just as you type. You just have to start typing the word and it starts giving suggestions. This applies to the website addresses, your contacts, previous searches and any other searches.
This also makes you think about another aspect i.e. if you have to do a Google search, will you go directly to the browser and access the site or will you use the app? Its certainly gona take time if you’re using the app but anyway to stay in the competition, its a better thing to do.
