Just came across this on Google Blogoscoped, showing that Google has changed it’s favicon (For noobs, a favicon is the icon shown before the URL in the address bar of the browser).
The favicon now sports the letter g but in small letters now, and without the borders of the old one.
Although, I for one welcome the new look, I don’t really like the look of it. The old Google favicon resembles the Google Logo much better then the new one. If you don’t see the new favicon yet, you’ll have to empty your temporary files to see the new one. Their is also an interesting bit of writing on the post:
Tony Ruscoe in the forum wonders, “Is Google undergoing a rebranding exercise…?” and adds, “Maybe they’re going to be known as ’the little g’ rather than ’The Big G’ from now on…”. Google continues to grow and grow, but one of their self-proclaimed core values is “Think and act like an underdog”.
This rather seems like too much deep thinking over a 16 x 16 image to me! Although Sergey Bin is in a better position to decide that.![]()

who the **** cares?
