When you are a leader like Google and everything is just going right for you, it only takes a campaign going wrong to have all fingers pointing at you. The same happened when Google Japan began a pay per post campaign went berserk and had its plug pulled off, resulting in Google’s page rank dropping to 5 (Google.com stands at 10). I guess its bid to beat Yahoo Japan has turned over on itself and has cost a lot, at least the disgrace, good that they penalized themselves and apologized. Google Japan sent an email to bloggers a part of which says:
At Google, we believe in being open and transparent with our users, and do not condone these kinds of opaque communications. We would like to apologize for this episode, and express our gratitude to the community of users and bloggers who brought this to our attention so that we could put a stop to it.
