comScore, a global leader in measuring the digital world, has released its U.S. search rankings for the month of May. Top 5 positions have remained the same but there has been some changes in their shares. Google maintained its record of improving shares. Its share rose from April’s 61.6% to 61.8% in the month of May.
Yahoo has also improved its shares in the month of May. It has increased its shares from last month’s 20.4% to 20.6% in May. Microsoft though, has lost its shares from last month’s 9.1% to 8.5% in May.
Search volume in the month of May, throughout the industry increased ton 16% y/y, a little low from April’s 18%.
According to an estimated data from Imran Khan of JP Morgan:
AOL lost its shares from April’s 4.6% to 4.5% in May whereas an increase in Ask Network shares has been observed from previous 4.3% to current 4.5%.
