It seems like Google is thinking hard at finding a solution to make public profiles a more systematic section by indexing more than 150,000 public profiles across its platform. The idea is to create an indexed sitemap to make identification of pages across the web easier for the search engines.
The profiles mentioned are of those users who have added information on various Google services like, Maps, Reader, etc. The idea of creating a profile for Google services hasn’t been emphasized much by users and more importantly Google; which hasn’t given it priority as well. I guess things are going to change and more users will be encouraged to create a profile for any/every Google service they use.
