Google only recently announced its own Venture Capital Funds and there come out rumors of a possible Google acquisition of an Arab startup. The rumor comes hurtling from Arab Crunch which hasn’t mentioned the name of this lucky Jordanian startup, but says that the deal can be worth millions. The deal is still in process, meaning we all have to wait for the official confirmation from Google. I personally think this is going to be an obvious move from the giant in the Web sphere as the Arab world is pretty promising when it comes to both innovation and advertising revenue. I am keen to have this rumor become a reality.

I Have it in Good Authority
That this news is totally false
Google are not considering buying any company in Jordan
Their visit here was in their way from Rammalla to the Gulf .
and the Company Gaith [editor of Arab Crunch the Blog] is having in mind is totally wrong and misleading

@ Najeeb Jararr: Look at the update of the original post, and as I said at the begging of this post I’ve been hearing rumors I did not say anything is 100% confirmed. However my source/s is a respected party and more investigation is taking place. So you should refine from using words such as “misleading” and stay away from personal attacks! You take things too personal! Also you better read this post: http://arabcrunch.com/2009/04/arabcrunch-news-tipping-policy.html

@Najeeb: As it has been mentioned both in the source news and the post at Startup Meme; it’s rumored that Google might make such an investment. If this is false, all one can do is pass it on as just another rumor you came across, but the best thing about these rumors is you never know when one might become a reality. We are waiting for Gaith to confirm the rumor in both cases (true or false.
