Google is now pulling a Baidu in China by sprinkling ads of scammy, unlicensed medical providers besides its search results in China. Baidu was previously caught doing this, and faced severe PR backlash. According to China Central Television’s reports:

China Central Television’s morning news reported on Thursday that Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) China lists links for some unlicensed medical providers at the top of search results and in its right-hand sponsored links section. The news comes roughly four weeks after CCTV aired a similar segment on Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU) and also implicates other major search sites including China Yahoo and Sohu’s (Nasdaq: SOHU) Sogou.
