Google is now receiving some pounding from ConsumerWatchDog over certain aspects of some of the features in Gmail and Chrome, that according to the organization are a serious privacy concern. These features include:
- Gmail’s auto-save features, which submits unsent drafts to Google’s servers
- Chrome’s desktop shortcut feature, which removes the URL from your view
- Google’s context-targeted ad-serving in Gmail
- The inability of people sending email to Gmail users to opt-out of Google data storing
