Google Reader has launched a new and better looking UI for Reader along with a bunch of features. The team has tried to cut on the visual clutter and have retired the rounded corners in favor of squared ones. The improvements have also added to the speed of the reader. In addition to this the navigation pane in the left is now collapsible and provides more visibility to your friends by giving them their own section in the navigation pane. The one bonus here is the additional feed bundles, where the reader team has bundled together feeds into different categories like NBA, Music, Technology etc.

That came as a surprise to me. I wish they provided the new theme as an option – it’s a little difficult getting use to such a change.
