When we talk about Google now it’s no more Google Search alone, for in less than a decade the Search giant has expanded rapidly into every sphere of the technology world. And its reach into every nook and corner is the reason that the annual survey released by Interbrand for the best Global Brands puts Google at number 10.
Number 10 doesn’t sound much impressive does it? But given that it was no where in the list in 2004 to making a direct jump at 38 in 2005, ranked 20 last year and topping many previous best to reach number 10 in 2008, increasing by 43%, speaks volumes about how valuable it is.
Interbrand uses a pretty straightforward methodology for creating the list and it’s based on factors that include importance in driving consumer selection, financial strength and many other factors. Well Google won’t be much concerned with the methodology for its current position amongst global brands speaks volumes of its success in every sphere.
