Gmail had earlier announced the launch of free SMS service for its users but I guess the plug has already been pulled due to some glitches. Google has decided to delay the service until all the bugs are fixed and it’s fit enough for the launch.
Leo Dirac, Google’s Product Manager speaks of the problem, stating:
We found a glitch. When you’d try to turn it on, it wouldn’t fully enable. We thought about keeping it out there — bugs and all — but the experience wasn’t that great.
One can be hopeful enough and wait for the service to get the live status soon.
