Google has bought 75 hectares of property in a northern Austrian village, Kronstorf near Linz, to build its next server farm in Europe. The farm would be operational in the next two years and would employ 50 to 100 people initially. The area was selected due to its favourable economic environment, nearby qualified manpower, and ample electricity and water – which is typically the case with most Google Server Farms since these beasts require lot of electricity and constant supply of water to keep the servers cool. The farm would cost Google tens of millions of Euros.
